native
picture taken in late may.
this native flower is aptly called "little bluet" as well as "azure bluet" - ours aren't blue basically at all, but sometimes they can be. these flowers were pretty much hidden in the grass and it took me several passes to notice them. they usually grow in proper patches, but the yard only had a small handful of the little things.
bluets grow in the sun and partial shade, and tolerate a variety of soils - they can be grown in rock gardens, apparently! they're reasonably well-liked by small pollinators, and largely ignored by grazing mammals (probably because they're just so small)!
